Hugh took the reigns of the voice direction of a 1945 pathe radio broadcast, and also a full ADR session with English and Polish voice actors in the brand-new, and absolutely brilliant 2018 film, Hurricane, starring the fabulously talented Iwan Rheon (off of Game of Thrones and Misfits) and the gorgeously talented Stefanie Martini.
Watch the credits too, and you may find that Hugh was doing a little more than just directing on this one!!!
(No, we’re not telling what it was – you’ll have to buy him a pint to get it out of him!)
We’d love to tell you more about this but we can’t, due to the old dreaded NDA’s! Suffice to say, the Eagle-Eye’d among you following Hugh’s twitter feed would have noticed him in Moscow a couple of months ago. Hugh was casting the single biggest project he’s ever done with more than 400 Russian voice artists involved.
One day, we will be able to share with you what goodies ensued!
We learning a bit more about history as we work on the ADR for this Russian film, Panfilov’s 28. Based on the account by reporter Vasiliy Koroteev that appeared in the Red Army’s newspaper, Krasnaya Zvezda, shortly after the battle, this is the story of Panifilov’s Twenty-Eight, a group of twenty-eight soldiers of the Red Army’s 316th Rifle Division, under the command of General Ivan Panfilov, that stopped the advance on Moscow of a column of fifty-four Nazi tanks of the 11th Panzer Division for several days.
We are a huge fan of Terry Gilliam, no surprise then when this opportunity came along we jumped at the chance to work with him on the voice direction and ADR. The Man Who Killed Don Quixote is a 2018 adventure-comedy film directed by Terry Gilliam and written by Gilliam and Tony Grisoni, loosely based on the novel Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes.
